It all started with a young girl picking peonies with her Mam-ma and learning to find creative solutions alongside her Grandma Phillips and her mom, Charlene. As Christine Waldrop grew up under the leadership of these three women, she learned the ins-and-outs of life and things like tending a garden, designing arrangements of freshly-harvested flowers, and even how to rewire a lamp. Christine was taught the power of independence and approaches everything with a can-do attitude. 

When Christine had her own two daughters she channeled the same energy into raising both her girls, while also spending years in event creation and floral design adding to her experience. One of the key things for her, is that that she’s constantly learning and seeking more experience and knowledge. When her youngest was a senior in high school, she started to move towards the direction of running a full-time business on her own. Once both of her girls were out of the house, because she’d spent years working in floral and event design, opening a business was the perfect next step for her to solidify her previous experience.

Starting Blluum has allowed Christine to pursue her love of floral and event design full-time and share what her great-grandma, grandma, and mom instilled within her. Plus, she’s a big believer that 50 is just the beginning of life as a woman and is thrilled to be making her own mark as the matriarch of her family. Blluum’s mission is to cultivate and kindle relationships, like those of Christine and the women who raised her, by harnessing the sentimental.
